You may have been wondering where the hell I’ve been for the last month. Perhaps you were worried that the site was finished. That I’d lost the plot with all my mad scheduling and decided to put myself out of my misery, took a bullet to my head, or strung myself up in my bathroom. No, is the answer to all those questions.
The simple answer is I moved. Though I didn’t want to fucking do this, not in the slightest (especially considering I hate change and stress – my mortal enemies in life along with death and society). And so I’ve had to endure a massive fucking headache (and a near mental breakdown) time, and time, again as my parents dragged me into a tiny flat where I will be living for the foreseeable future. Joy!
Though you may be wondering why I’m still living at home with my parents, well that’s simply because I’m a lazy fucker who enjoys sponging in order to survive whilst I sit on my arse all day complaining on the internet. I’m joking of course. I actually do want to escape the clutches of my parents and spread my wings and attempt to fly (before painfully realising I cannot and thus breaking both my knee-caps after my leap of faith).
The real reason is I can’t (as of yet) afford a place of my own, but that will hopefully change (sooner rather than later) and me and my partner can finally live in peace and have that sacred thing called privacy.
So I’ve been without internet for the past month and that alone nearly drove me insane (never mind about all the shitting stress I’ve had to deal with in my life at the moment, both in my day-job and at home). But, thankfully, I’m back now and I intend to stay this time.
I will be continuing my Marvel Cinematic Universe review series, picking up with Thor (which was in the process of being written before I lost my internet a month ago). As for my Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review, that may have to be pushed back until the Blu-ray release sadly as it’s been a while now since the film was released and I don’t feel I can give the film a fair review on memory alone. I like to have the product I’m reviewing fresh in my mind in order to analysis it more fairly and accurately.
And, you might have guessed, the X-Men review series has been postponed for the time being. At least until perhaps Logan comes out on Blu-ray, to which I’ll finally get round to watching it and reviewing it (blasphemy, I know!)
I will also be playing catch-up with my Doctor Who reviews, and then hopefully upon the broadcast of “Extremis” at the weekend I’ll be back up to date and will upload them weekly again. And you’ll be shocked to know that I’ve done a complete U-turn with the show, from wanting to beat Steven Moffat senselessly over the fucking head with the nearest blunt object to giving the man a fucking blow-job after finally granting me a consistent, and exciting series after three years of kicking me violently in the bollocks and setting my childhood on fire.
Speaking of Doctor Who, I’ve been really meaning to get back to doing my Classic era reviews, which I hoped would eventually bring me to do the daring mission of reviewing every single episode of the show. But things have just kept getting in the way so I think I’m going to have to re-think my strategy into an easy set of articles. Say, perhaps, an “In Perspective” series in which each article concentrates on a particular season/series (starting with Season 1 of course). But I guess we’ll have to see.
Also, I’ve been catching up on my Big Finish audio adventures (namely Doom Coalition and The War Doctor boxsets) whilst my internet was down and was considering doing reviews for them (and other stories I own) in the near future. We’ll see. But considering there’s always a ton of news from the company about exciting upcoming projects (like the recently announced The Tenth Doctor Adventures – Volume 2, starring David Tennant and Billie Piper) it’s worth keeping an open mind on fun content to give to you guys in the future.
As for the long forgotten Arrowverse reviews, it’s been shot in the fucking head and left to rot on the side of the motor-way. I’m afraid reviewing these superhero shows will probably have to wait until the Blu-ray releases, and then hopefully upon the next phase I’ll be able to keep up to date in order to do weekly reviews. But I say that every fucking year, ha-ha, my time-keeping kills are shockingly appalling.
Upcoming films I want to review include Alien: Covenant, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, and Wonder Woman. As for other ideas, I was thinking of reviewing Tite Kubo‘s infamous manga series Bleach (I know it’s still ongoing for us Western audience members, but fuck it!), which is a particular favourite of mine. Maybe even delve further into the manga/anime genre (I’ve been meaning to do it after all). Just a thought I suppose.
As for the gaming side of my reviews, finally get round to reviewing Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, and Batman: Arkham Knight in order to finish those mini-series off once and for all. It’s also worth noting that I’ve been having myself a little Uncharted marathon the last couple of week’s, so if you’re very, very, very lucky, I may review the series before the year’s out (just to make myself look even more like an evil bastard with all my promises and teases).
Anyhow, that’s enough of me waffling. At the end of the day I just wanted to say that I was back and content will swiftly return to its normal scheduling. But, at the very least, I thought I might as well attempt to share with you some updates about the future of the site. If all goes according to plan then I may finally be able to update the site and give it its own domain, pushing my work further than I’ve ever done before and maybe even attract a wider audience.
I also want to branch my reviews out into video reviews so you can all have the misfortunate of hearing my voice drone into your ears, instead of my words just making your eyes bleed. I’m also strongly thinking about getting back into novel writing, or comic-book writing, something a little more creative and story-based. Perhaps even do comic sketches of some description. I don’t know yet.
My mind is beaming with ideas and there’s just not enough hours in the day to just sit down and construct a battle plan, let alone comprehend how the fuck I’m supposed to do all of this without any real resources, but fuck it! In the meantime keep a look out for the regular content and I’ll keep you all posted on any further updates in the near future (hopefully).
Again, thanks for reading my rambling. Also, I’m back bitches!
Love you really.
